Moat Community College Governors

The Governing Body meets every half term, to discuss how well the school is doing.  The Governors aim to ensure the children are given the best possible educational and pastoral opportunities. Many have or have had children in the college, and are deeply committed to continuing to improve the school. 

Governors take a lead in supporting and challenging the Principal to continue to make changes that will improve learning outcomes for children. They also set the overall vision and direction for the school.

The areas that that the governors focus on are;

  • The vision for the college
  • The achievement of students
  • The behavior of students
  • The welfare and safety of students
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Leadership across the college
  • The financial management of the college

The Chair and the Vice Chair of the governing body are elected annually.

The current post holders are:

  • Chair - Jo Hollings
  • Vice Chair - Tas Khan

Governors Committees  

  • The Resource Committee that meets regularly to discuss staffing, budget and resource issues.
  • The Terms of Reference of the Resource can be viewed in a separate document.
  • Other Committee’s are occasionally formed to deal with particular issues.
