Moat has a wide range of facilities in a central Leicester location available to hire during weekday evenings and at weekends during term time.
In school holiday periods some facilities may be available during the daytime mid week.
CONFERENCE AND MEETING FACILITIES
We have a modern lecture theatre with full IT presentation facilities that can accomodate 150 people in comfortable seating positioned in a tiered arrangement. The room is ideal for conferences and large meetings.
The Theatre is located close to the front of the college and our foyer which is ideal to meet with visitors before a conference or meeting.
DINING ROOM 1
Dining room 1 is the smaller of the 2 dining rooms, seating approx 75.
It is located next to Dining room 2 which makes it ideal if you are looking for a bigger area but need space to separate food from the main activities. There are also large kitchen facilities adjoined to this area which can be hired out at an additional cost.
DINING ROOM 2
Dining room 2 is the larger of the 2 halls with a seating capacity of 150.
There are large kitchen facilities adjoined to this room which can be hired at an additional cost.
LOWER COMMUNITY LOUNGE
The Lower Lounge is a comfortable area with tables and chairs for approx 15 people making it the ideal venue to hold a meeting without being disturbed.
We have a well appointed Conference room that can accommodate up to 15 people. Full IT and projection facilities are available. The room also has a tea and coffee station for light refreshments.
Our Library is an air conditioned room which has a seating capacity of approx 40 people. It has full IT and projection facilities available. The Library is suitable for group work or formal meetings/presentations.
We have a number of classrooms and meeting rooms that are available for hire. These are ideal for small meetings and can also be used as supplementary/break out rooms when organising larger meetings or conferences.
This is a large 6 badminton court sports hall that can also be used for basketball, volleyball, netball and indoor cricket. Full male and female changing facilities are available.
The Gym would be ideal to have karate sessions or aerobic style activities as it is a lot smaller than the main sports hall giving it a capacity of around 25. It has a sprung floor and full male and female changing facilities are available.
The Wall is a corridor shape with climbs on both sides and ends. Its surfaces are of breeze block with rock holds and concrete cracks for most of the wall and brick with chipped holds for the two bolted walls. The wall is 6.8m high to the walkway at the top and offers about 85 square meters of climbing surface. On the walkway there are top rope bars that cover all of the breeze block surfaces. There is a small changing area from which the walkway can be reached by a fixed ladder.
Our Dance studio is fully equipped with bars and mirrors and has a capacity of 15.
ALL WEATHER PITCH
The All Weather Pitch is floodlit and is close to the large rear car park to make access easy. The All Weather Pitch has both football and hockey goals and full markings for users of both half and full pitch.

Leicester City is in the East Midlands and is easily accessible from the M1 or M69.
Moat Community College is located just outside Leicester City centre at the back of Leicester railway station.
There is limited on-site parking so please consider other forms of transport when visiting the college.
Our carpark entrances are along Hutchinson Street on the right of the college site.
LUNCHTIME AND AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
At Moat we run a variety of lunchtime and after school activities which students can participate in.
Students are also encouraged to take part in various holiday activities which run throughout the year.
During the year a range of study support sessions are organised in preparation for exams. These are organised within the various departments with specialist sessions planned for February half term and the Easter break.
The library is also open before school, at breaktime, lunchtime and after school for all years to complete homework and for private study.
There are a range of partners who work with Moat such as BUILD, Akwaaoba Ayeh, the police, Education Welfare service, SEN services and the local Housing Federation.
Students enjoy residential outdoor activities.
The college is open 7 days a week and during most school holidays for the local community to hire various facilities. The Adult Learning & Family Learning Service also runs a varied programme within the college which local residents are encouraged to join.
